Call for Realization of WIDF’s XIV Congress

 WIDF - 60 years of fights and conquests

According to WIDF’s statute, the Direction Committee, in its meeting on April 23^th to 25^th 2006, in Alcochete – Portugal, conclames all affiliated organization to realize the 14º Congress in April 2007, in Venezuela, under the slogan – “The women from all World – A Vital force Against the neo-liberal globalization, terrorism and the imperialist wars – For Equality, Economic and Social Justice, and Peace”

The Direction Committee defined the folowing themes to the Congress :

Theme 1 : The (negatives) impacts of neo-liberal globalization on women

Theme 2 : The terrorism impact and the imperialist  war on women

Theme 3: The traffic and the mercantilization of women and children (on migrant, refugiate condition and “deslocked” women)

Theme 4: Building the international solidarity against the politic repression and all forms of violence against women.

Theme 5: Defending the rights of native women to culture and for equality.

Theme 6:  Advancing on equality of social rights to work, on health, education, social security, against hungry, among others.

Theme 7:  The media role on changing the negative image of women.

Theme 8:  The women in power and at taking political decisions

Theme 9: The history and the role of WIDF on defending women rights, national independency, social justice, democracy and Peace.

Theme 10: WIDF, feminism and the gender theory.
