Dear Marcia,
Dear friends from the Executive Committee of WIDF:
I see how much struggle and work you
and your collaborators has dedicated to prepare carefully, and, over all, with a
correct politic vision, these Executive Committee meeting that is essential to
the concretization of all ideas and aspirations that we have for our WIDF.
Among this, to prioritize, a
projection to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the WIDF,
with solidarism and been useful to the fight of the women and the peoples, in
such difficult times, not only economically but also socially, with dangers that
are result of the interventionist and belligerent imperialism, which in name of
the fight against the terrorism, turns against the countries of Asia, Africa and
Middle East, that will never renounce their persistence at the fight for
independency, sovereignty, and for the construction of a better world, with
equality, peace, and development.
I would like to be able to be with
you in this important meeting, however, the Doctor don’t authorizes me such long
travel, as well as Yolanda, whom responsibilities and tasks in the organization
of the CWF VIII Congress, that will happen in march 2005, also hinder her
participation. I would like to be able to share with you the analyzes, the
debates, and this entire rich agenda that will be followed by the committee. I
also wish to salute and express my personal affection, with a big hug, to all
and every participant of the committee and the seminary, especially to you
Marcia, for all effort and permanent work that you developed to conquest it.
Allow me dedicate too, a message of enthusiasm to
my brave companions from our region, from the MERCOSUL, that renew every day
their forces, face battles that made us proud and confirm our hope in a better
world.
I believe, Marcia, that is an excellent idea to
realize those Executive Committee in each region, because will allows us to
extend our influence and make new friendships.
I also think that in this moment, it’s been
filled with a great importance the realization of the SOS Africa Seminary,
exactly in Brazil, a brother country, that as ours has received the support of
many sons and daughters of the African continent, which has influenced in the
formation of our nations with their blood, their work, and their contribution to
the independence fights.
The today’s WIDF is growing stronger when assume
the subjects related with the most urgent African women necessities and
contributes to impulse its struggle against all forms of exploration, oppression
and discrimination, which we will have to face together.
I am convinced of the success of this meeting, as
also the understanding who all of us may have about the importance of WIDF at
the European Social Forum and at the World Social Forum. The recent experiences
at the Americas Social Forum foresee an opening to the opportunities of
introduce the points about women, the equality of rights, opportunities, and
possibility to realize the necessity of introduce a gender “vision” in the
studies, researches, in the application of public and planning politics, which
helps in the construction of equality and participative democracy ideas.
Finally, I would like to express my solidary
salutations and my admiration to the companies of the Middle East, who offer to
us first class information about the horrors happening with the Iraq invasion,
the sequels to the war in Afghanistan and the Israeli offensive against the
Palestine People, their women, children and aged, devoid of their own lands, of
their homes systematically massacred by the hate, the prepotency and by the most
vile expansionist interests.
Many hours will be dedicated to the debates,
information and reflections about this important agenda, been traced. Made me
proud to be one of the vice presidents of WIDF, and of you, my dear companies,
who keep high the women struggle, for our all rights, and the struggle of the
peoples for a better world.
