Dear friends: In our XIV WIDF Congress held in April, in Caracas - Venezuela, the biggest Congress of our organization in the last 20 years, once again we reaffirmed our commitment with the struggle for disarmament and in solidarity to the Japanese women for the aggressions in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki meant a nuclear threat period, of armament race and the most terrible destruction, since it was not absolutely necessary for definitively ending the war. The American imperialistic escalade of then did with the American generals, headed by Mc Arthur decided to launch the Atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and transform its main ally, USSR in its main enemy. To conquer China through its historical ally Chu in Lay, invading Korea, controlling Indochina were roads to close the siege under Russia. Fearing that these strategies could extend and that USSR could reorganize itself and also build its atomic bomb they decide to leave for the attack launching the Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki with serious consequences for all humanity: the Americans generals bellicose begin their imperialistic escalade. It was a pressure instrument for strengthening the sections that inside of USA and the American government they wanted to establish a new correlation of forces in the world, an imperialist vision, taking advantage of the post war period that the Soviet Union was found fragilized with the heroic death of 20 million Soviets in the II World war. The Struggle of our organization in the whole world for Peace and against all kinds of aggressions, face in this moment a new offensive by the American government and its political of aggression to the Europe through placement missiles in Poland and Czechoslovaquia, threatening Russia in a brutal way. Once again it fences Russia looking for attacking, stealing their mineral wealth and reducing the role of Europe in the world, submitting Russia. The American government puts again the World in similar situation to the Missiles Crisis of 1962, when for a little and thanks to President Kennedy's lucidity, the world didn't succumb to the nuclear holocaust. In spite of the proposals and offers of President Putin to be taken advantage bases in Azerbadjan that could be shared by Russians, NATO, Americans and Europeans to install defense systems, the offers were discarded by the American President who insists on his hegemonic presence in Europe and in the World. In 1962 during President Kennedy's government, the American military bellicose sections worked to bomb Cuba with nuclear weapons; they were impeded by an unpublished alliance between the USA President and the Soviet Union President, impeding the Holocaust. On that occasion, Kennedy talking with his cabinet affirmed that the bombs sent by Soviet Union to Cuba to protect it, would have some sense if he had put bombs in Turkey to threaten Soviet Union. It was informed then, that the bombs had been put in Turkey without his knowledge or approval by the American generals. In this moment in that a new nuclear threat, intimidate people with the threat of a new Holocaust, the WIDF struggle and particularly of the Japanese friends in their tireless campaign against nuclear weapons, it wins huge dimension again. The History of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the death of more than 200 thousand people, they are still today reminded by everybody. The radiation effects on Japanese people and their descendants until nowadays demand from all of us the most energetic performance for impeding that the nuclear bombs be used again in occupation and robbery wars, in nuclear wars, new kind of colonization and imperialism. The women of whole world through its recent conquest, the TV program “Women of Whole World”, dedicated to the women and the Japanese people, as well as to everyone who around the Planet struggle against the nuclear threats, the first program of world release with the theme “The Struggle for Peace Among Nations” where the friend Yuri Horie - President of FUDANREN and member of the WIDF Steering Committee did her statement on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombing. Following bellow a passage of her statement to the Women of the Whole World: “Today despite public opinion calling for nuclear weapons to be abolished, 27 thousand nuclear weapons are still deployed or stockpiled, threatening human survival. The Bush Administration is even developing “usable nuclear weapons”, promoting the first strike related “Missile Defense” program”. Today with the program “Women of the Whole World”, WIDF will take away to the women around the Planet our firm pronouncement against nuclear threats and we will call everybody to struggle firmly in their countries against those submission’s attempts of people and nations. To you, friends from Japan who in this moment, in mourning, remember your friends and relatives dead or sacrificed with the Bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki receive our most contusing solidarity and have the certainty and the conviction that in memory to the Japanese people we will keep struggling for a world of cooperation, independence, equality and fraternity among all people and nations.
