Márcia Campos, WIDF’s president, at the 2ª Conference of Vietnam Executive Committee

“WIDF support the Iraq Resistance” and demands the invaders retreat

The Women International Democratic Federation reunites delegations from twenty countries in Hanoi and approved an action plan in world struggle of Women for Peace, repudiation to Bush’s aggression to Iraq and Palestine occupation.

“At the moment the USA keep kidnapped the President Saddam Hussein and the heroic resistance of the Iraqi People develops the reject to the North American invasion along the Arab country, the main resolution of the Executive Committee of Women International Democratic Federation, WIDF, acquires an actuality even higher. By unanimity we approved demanding to UN and all the international organisms the Bush’s troops retreat from Iraq and respect to the country’s sovereignty and self-determination”, affirmed WIDF’s President, Marcia Campos, to the newspaper “Hora do Povo” , on Friday, December 26^th. The Second Executive Committee Conference of the Federation - are two per year -, occurred in Hanói, capital of the Vietnam, between days 21 and 24 of last November, with delegations of more than twenty countries presence.

The important meeting was inaugurated by Ha Thi Khiet’s saudation, president of Vietnam Woman Union (VWU), representing 11 millions of national affiliated, appointing the entity enter WIDF in 1946, a year after its foundation. “It’s such great honor to receive the women of world in my country, because all of you had fundamental role on the victory of our people in the war against USA”, she detached.

The WIDF and the Peace

“The WIDF it’s the firmer fighter for the peace, equality, for release and for development of women and peoples in a world full of war and threatens, quality that makes it an admirable entity”,   emphasized the Vietnam prime minister, Phan Van Khai, during the event open act. The special form how we were received reflects the indestructible friendship and the fellowship that unify us”, said Marcia, standing out that “We were with the Communist Party General Secretary, Nong Duc Manh, with the prime minister, with the Vietnam vice-president and ex-president of VWU, Truong My Hoa, with the president of General Work Confederation, Khu Thi Hau, whit ministers and parliamentarians, which transmitted to us a bit of this experience”

 Resolutions

At the conference was approved the condemnation of the crimes committed by the Sharon government against the Palestine People and an energetic support to Palestine State with it’s Capital in Jerusalem,  beyond the freedom to the ANP leader, Yasser Arafat, to  circulate freely in his country and in world without  attacks neither threats from Nazi – Zionism. Still was demanded the release of the five Cuban prisoners kept in different USA jails for fighting against terrorism perpetrated by the north-American government; and the peace at the Korean peninsula, with the north-American troops out of South-Korea, at the frontier with DPR of Korea.

The WIDF central direction its integrated by it’s president, Marcia Campos, diligent of Brazil Women Confederation, and its four vice-president: Vilma Espín, president of Cuban Woman Confederation; Christina Demetriadou, general secretary of POGO movement at Cyprus; Mayada Abassi, from, Palestine; and Ruth Neto, from Angola. Also participated diligent from entities that integrate the execute committee.
